On a new podcast, former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao revealed he officially submitted a pardon request to President Trump two weeks ago.
Zhao said the decision came after reports linking him to Trump-connected crypto deals—reports he previously denied.
Zhao was the first person ever sentenced to prison in the U.S. for a single BSA violation—serving 4 months and paying a $50M fine.
While applying for a pardon, Zhao made it clear: “I’m not looking to become CEO of Binance again.”
