In 2023, ransomware attacks raked in over $1 billion in cryptocurrency, according to a recent report from Chainalysis.
The prime targets of these attacks were prominent entities such as individuals, institutions, media outlets, hospitals, airlines, and governmental bodies.
Chainalysis also highlights that emerging ransomware variants, such as CL0P, employed 'big game hunting' tactics to target companies.
