Shiba’s maximum supply of 1 quadrillion can not be increased further as Ryoshi, the creator of Shiba Inu, has deleted the private keys.
The news was shared by Shiba’s lead marketing executive, Lucie, who has been acting as the project’s spokesperson since Ryoshi and Shytoshi both seem to have taken a passive role in the project.
Deleting the keys was a bold move as Shiba Inu suffers from a very high circulating supply of $588 trillion tokens. The only way ahead remains is the burning of tokens to achieve a reasonable supply.
Though burning SHIB tokens produces a nominal impact, yet it is highly praised in the Shiba Inu community.
Currently, Shiba Inu remains the most promising memecoin which has an active DeFi presence, has its own utility-based layer 2 blockchain, and a thriving ecosystem. It might soon become a leading memecoin if Dogecoin continues its downtrend.
