Blockchain technology has evolved through the years and has now become the basis of several tech infrastructures, and many more multi-billion dollar industries.

Almost everyone in the world today would likely have heard of Bitcoin at some point, whether they were involved with crypto or not.

And if almost everyone has heard of Bitcoin, chances are, most people at some point, would have heard of its legendary creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.

But here's where things get interesting.

In this article, we will dive slightly deeper into the world of blockchains and crypto, with a focus on Bitcoin, and why Apple's Steve Jobs may have in fact, been the legendary creator of the first and most popular cryptocurrency/blockchain in the world.

Bitcoin and Nakamoto

Bitcoin is the first and largest cryptocurrency in the world by market cap, and currently has about a 45% stake in the crypto market's capitalization (keep in mind that this is a trillion-dollar industry)

However, despite Bitcoin's success in the crypto and blockchain space, nobody knows who created it.

The last statement is way more complicated than it sounds.

Everyone "knows of" Satoshi Nakamoto (which is a pseudonym or fake name, or pseudonym). However, since Bitcoin's inception in 2009, nobody "knows who" Nakamoto is.

To date, nobody knows who Nakamoto is, what his (or her) real name may be, or if they are even a real person.

At the same time, would you say that Nakamoto may have been Steve Jobs, the legendary co-founder of Apple?

Probably not.

In the next few paragraphs, we will delve into why there might be concrete evidence that Jobs was Nakamoto.

Could Jobs Have Been Nakamoto?

From the early Macintosh computers to the operating system that powers the iPods and now powers iMacs, iPads and iPhones, Jobs played a pivotal role in shaping the way we interact with technology today.

However, it may be possible that this legend had a secret identity as Satoshi Nakamoto, the mysterious creator of Bitcoin before he died in 2011.

Through the years, Jobs, along with other popular historic figures in the tech space has been thought of as Bitcoin's mysterious creator.

Jobs, in particular, has been the subject of heavy speculation, ever since Bitcoin's whitepaper was found hidden away in secret locations on Mac computers in 2020

These speculations died down back then, but have now been refuelled after the whitepaper was confirmed to still be present on the current Mac OS.

This has revived the long-dead questions about who Nakamoto is, and how Jobs fits into the picture.

According to a video attached to a tweet from the Twitter account, Documenting Bitcoin, Bitcoin's white paper is still present and is available on every Mac running Catalina or newer operating systems.

For such an operating system as sealed off as Catalina, Bitcoin's whitepaper accidentally showing up in its files is more than enough to raise questions

Several Other People May Have Been Nakamoto

As reported 750,000 – 1.1 million $BTC fortune belonging to Nakamoto has remained untouched for more than a decade.

The Bitcoin community has proposed several names as potential candidates for this Nakamoto persona throughout the years, including Hal Finney, who was deeply involved in Bitcoin's creation before passing away.

Another is Nick Szabo, who described a decentralized, proof-of-work virtual money in a paper titled "Bit gold" in 1998, more than a decade before Bitcoin.

Considering Jobs' role in popularizing PCs, the late Apple co-founder has also been credited as the developer of Bitcoin. The only setback is that while Jobs is perceived as some sort of computer scientist, programmer or cryptographer, he was only a visionary and business tycoon.

This is even without mentioning that Nakamoto may not even have been one person, but may have been several people who worked together on the birth of Bitcoin.

Where is Nakamoto?

Nakamoto disappeared from the public eye in 2011 and has not been heard from since.

There have been many speculations and attempts to uncover the true identity of Nakamoto over the years, but no one has been able to definitively prove who he, she, or they are.

Some believe that Nakamoto may have been a group of people rather than an individual, while others have theorized that Nakamoto may have passed away.

One possible explanation for Nakamoto's disappearance is that he simply wanted to step away from the spotlight and return to a more private life.

It is also possible that Nakamoto was concerned about legal and regulatory scrutiny surrounding Bitcoin and wanted to distance themselves from the project.
