Aptos Network, a Layer-1 blockchain, faced a challenging outage that disrupted its operations for over five hours

According to Aptoscan network tracker, the blockchain's on-chain transactions came to a halt on Oct. 18 at 11:11 pm UTC, and remained down for more than five hours

The outage prompted crypto exchanges Upbit and OKX to temporarily suspend APT deposits and withdrawals, informing users about maintenance on the Aptos network

Prior to the outage, Aptos Labs celebrated its one-year anniversary since the launch of Aptos Mainnet. The project, founded by former Meta employees, has strong venture capital backing

Blockchain outages serve as a reminder of the challenges and improvements needed in the crypto space.
