Project USP:
deBridge is a generic messaging and cross-chain interoperability protocol that enables decentralized transfers of assets and data between blockchains. One of our unique selling points is that deBridge is also primarily a platform which enables projects and developers to build on top of our infrastructure and create various cross-chain opportunities. These can for instance be:
- Build own custom bridges for assets and NFTs preserving custom NFT logic (e.g. breeding)
- Let users from other blockchain ecosystems interact with their protocol
- Scale up their protocol to other chains and exchange commands/messages between components of their protocol
- Make their protocol composable with protocols from other ecosystems
- Build new types of cross-chain applications and primitives
Project Trivia:
deBridge launched mainnet in February 2022 and is a fully decentralized team spread across the world. We started working on deBridge when the team experienced problems with cross-chain communication as there was no unified or convenient solution. The project commenced to solve the problem of cross-chain interoperability and the idea was born out of the Chainlink Spring 2021 Hackathon. The team took the grand prize among more than 140 projects worldwide in various areas of the blockchain ecosystem.

Alex Smirnov, CEO
Alex is the CEO and Co-Founder of deBridge, a generic messaging and cross-chain interoperability protocol, where he focuses on all areas of the project including protocol design, product management, ecosystem adoption, and operations. He is a mathematician and developer, and previously co-founded Phenom which is a blockchain research and development company. He has also led a team that has won numerous hackathons and developed various blockchain solutions and dApps.
Yaroslav Artyukh, CTO
Yaroslav has ten years of experience in software development, five of which he was involved in the development of fintech and blockchain solutions. Yaroslav is deBridge’s CTO and leads the development of all components for the protocol. Before joining Alex at Phenom, Yaroslav led the development of high-load web applications at several software development companies.
Funding and Lead Investors:
deBridge did a $5.5 million funding round last summer to bring the new era of cross-chain interoperability to areas of DeFi, NFTs, and more. The round saw participation from Animoca Brands, Huobi Ventures, Lemniscap, Crypto.com Capital, MGNR, IOSG, bitScale, The LAO, GSR, AngelDAO, NeptuneDAO, , Gabby Dizon, Santiago R.
