WannaCry is a type of ransomware designed to infect the network and everything connected to it. This type of malware gains access to a device such as a computer or a phone in the form of a doppler. By doppler, it means that it has a program that is designed to unleash other components that make up the malware.

Usually, WannaCry ransomware opens up the pandora box, which comes with a component that encrypts and decrypts data. They target those data in the encrypted computer and try to decipher them to access the information contained within, then encrypt them again. It is common to see hackers using this strategy to try and gain entrance into files that contain encryption keys.

This ransomware can easily be spotted by the keen eyes of a security expert if they start to analyze it. The ransomware finds valuable information and encrypts it, making it difficult for the device owner to access it.

Usually, a message is displayed, telling the owner to pay a certain amount of money to get it decrypted. Payment is requested in cryptocurrency, making it difficult to track them. The ransomware may come with a timer that stipulates that they lose access to the features contained in the infected devices once the time runs out.

Hackers may look for devices owned by wealthy people and firms that they think have cryptocurrencies and send WannaCry ransomware to them. It is advisable to avoid downloading content from unknown sources.
